The Oasis Story

The Oasis Story

Oasis Around the World

The Oasis Global story began in 1985 when Steve Chalke opened a shelter named No. 3 for homeless youth in inner-city London. Inspired by the life of Christ, Oasis began with a vision for transforming urban communities. The focus was to help the most marginalized experience freedom and the fullness of life. We are currently working in ten countries: Bangladesh, Belgium, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, South Africa, Uganda, United Kingdom, United States and Zimbabwe.

The Video gives an insight on some of our current global work.

Oasis in America

Oasis began implementing the vision for transformed urban communities in the U.S. in 2001. In the U.S. there are thousands of men, women and children trapped in slavery. For these marginalized individuals, Oasis USA provides community based initiatives that create pathways to freedom for survivors of human trafficking and modern day slavery.

View this short clip of former Oasis USA Director, Paul Hong-Lange, sharing about how to identify victims of human trafficking
