Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision & Mission

Oasis USA Vision:

Our vision is for community – a place for the excluded; a place for all, where everyone can make a contribution and reach their God-given potential.

Oasis USA Mission:

Oasis walks alongside the poor and excluded, empowering them to find their voice, address injustice, and strengthen their communities. Oasis works in a holistic and comprehensive way.

Oasis’ Ethos:

Christ-centered. Our work is inspired by the message, life and example of Jesus. We are motivated by God’s unconditional love for all people and seek to express that love both to colleagues internally and to those we serve outside of Oasis. We seek to be prayerful in all we do. People. We seek to value everyone, protecting their right to freedom and believing that all, in their diversity, have been created by God, in his image. We work actively against discrimination and social exclusion and seek equal opportunity for all. We seek to be lifelong learners and believe training and development are key activities. Innovation. We encourage creative thinking and problem solving, seeking to pioneer new activities and develop a fresh perspective in expressing eternal truths. Action. We believe that actions speak louder than words. We get involved, are prepared to embrace change, and thrive on challenge. We are not afraid of failure but will take risks and learn from our mistakes. Partnership. We seek, where appropriate, to work in partnership with churches and other voluntary and statutory organisations to maximise effectiveness. We seek to serve and encourage local churches, recognising their primary role within local communities. We believe that together with others we will be more effective in seeing God’s Kingdom come on earth. Excellence. We desire to deliver quality in every aspect of our work and are committed to establishing and assessing measurable outcomes.

We are part of the Oasis Global family working in 10 other countries around the world:  Bangladesh, Belgium, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, South Africa, Uganda, UK, and Zimbabwe.
