Oasis India

Oasis India
Releasing with Outreach and Rescue
Oasis India’s Outreach & Rescue strategy houses an early encounter program and a drop-in center in Mumbai’s red light area. They also partner with other organizations and the local police for the investigation and rescue of victims of human trafficking. Oasis India provides holistic care for residents in government protected homes in Bangalore and Mumbai, and they also host awareness programs to help prevent trafficking.
Regenerating with Transitional Care
Oasis India enables individuals afflicted by poverty and HIV and those trapped in sexual exploitation and situations of human trafficking to be equipped and empowered. These individuals participate in a restoration program that prepares them physically and emotionally to lead self-sustaining, productive lives in safe communities. The majority of the participants are women and minor girls rescued from situations of sexual exploitation and women and children infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Restoring with Community Empowerment
Oasis India is developing a ‘hub’ strategy, using mobile teams to work in various communities around the cities, delivering higher impact and engaging the community. Oasis’ Community Empowerment program currently exists in 10 slum communities in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai with initiatives ranging from education, health awareness, training, micro finance and youth mobilization.
